In a market full of literary journals which publish everything from flash fiction to creative non-fiction and poetry, we’ve found a void of opportunities to publish larger pieces that may not be self-contained. It is the mission of Townsend to fill this need by publishing high quality works of literature in the form of novel excerpts.

Our submission requirements are simple, select your submission option and then copy and paste 15 pages of your manuscript for our review. On the last page, please provide a 3-5 sentence summary of your project and let us know if it's complete or a work in progress.

*Submissions should be previously unpublished unless permission to reprint has already been given by your publisher.
Submissions are open each year between May 1st and October 1st.
